We’re deep into developing some longer term features right now but have released a few smaller updates in the past weeks that we’d like to share with you.
Photo Rotation
One of the most commonly requested features for photo sharing on ZangZing is to let you rotate the photos. Clearly, photo sharing should not require neck strain… 
How it works is simple. For any shared photo, click on the “i” menu and the album owner can rotate a photo right or left. That’s it. Plain and simple.

Also, a few other tips on the “i” menu include setting the album cover photo and downloading photos.
Downloading Shared Photos
The owner of an album decides who can download photos on an album by album basis. This is done in the “Create Group & Share” step of creating or editing an album.
Under Settings, you can allow Everyone (specifically every ZangZing user), Group (whoever you have added to the Group) or No one (that is, no one other than the album owner) to download photos.
Photo Sharing with Email
One of our more popular but “hidden” features is the ability to email photos into an album. We added this to make it easy for people who get an invitation to add photos instantly without having to create an account. It’s also an easy way to add photos from your smartphone. We are of course busy working on an iphone app as well…
Here are a few of the hidden features of using ZangZing via email.
- You can create a new album by sending an email to new@YOURUSERNAME.zangzing.com and setting the Album Name in the email subject line. You can also include your first photos.
- You can invite people as contributors by cc’ing them on the email to create an album.
- When you receive the email that your album has been created, it includes an attached vcard. Add the card to your contacts to easily find the email address of the album later.
- Take a photo on your smartphone and share the photo via email by simply typing ZangZing in the To: field. You should will see all the album email addresses you saved. Add a caption for the photo in the subject line and then send to YOUR-ALBUM-NAME@YOURUSERNAME.zangzing.com.
What’s next?
We are also working on a few big things now. The first is comments. It’s up and running internally and we hope to have that rolled out in the next few weeks.
We are also developing our ability for you to purchase photo products. We are initially focusing on high quality prints, canvases, and mounted photos and then have some new and creative ideas coming after that. And we promise we won’t be bombarding you to buy stuff whenever you log in…
Lastly, we are working on an iphone app which we can’t wait to get into everyone’s hands – no pun intended…
