Hello and Welcome to ZangZing.
I’d like to share a little bit about what we’re up to.
Kathryn, Mauricio and I, the co-founders of the company, love taking pictures. And so does everyone on our team. And our guess is that we’re a lot like you.
We’ve all taken trips with friends. We’ve been to lots of parties. And weddings. And kid’s events. And at all of these events, everyone takes photos. Some on digital SLRs, some on point and shoots, and some with smart phones.
And all that is great because we now have these amazing photos of friends, events, and parties. They are the memories of our lives.
Yet the state of photo sharing on the web feels like it’s stuck in the “dark ages.” What do I mean by that?
To start, albums today are designed for one person to share his or her photos. Yet, usually lots of different people are taking photos at the same event.
Secondly, the services today are cluttered with ads and don’t put your photos at center stage.
And lastly, complicated photo selection, uploading, and navigation make most of the services difficult for people to use.
Take Facebook as an example. It’s the #1 photo sharing site. And it’s great for connecting with friends and posting short messages or the random photo or two.
However, for the most part, the photo experience is, well, pretty lacking.
When you create an album on Facebook, only one person can add pictures to it. And unless you can figure out facebook’s privacy controls, all of your friends see all your photos. On the one hand, that’s not social enough. On the other hand, it’s way too “social.” Does that make sense?
And Facebook only shows low resolution photos and surrounds them with ads.

Get this. Just the other day in my Facebook photos, there was an ad for “$50 off your 1st Bonobos.” What the heck’s a Bonobo? And what does it have to do with my photos?
Even worse, there were two more ads for my “bucket list” describing things I need to do before I die. Is Facebook trying to tell me something? Bonobos and my bucket list? Oh, brother…
And have you tried to upload lots of photos? When the first upload screen says to hold down the command key and then click, you know you’re in trouble.
Anyway, you get the idea. Our photos capture the amazing to the zany. They deserve to be shared beautifully through a service that is incredibly simple to use. And groups of people should be able to create albums together and still control the privacy of their photos.
And that’s what ZangZing is about – Group Photo Sharing. Simply and Beautifully.
We’re going to start private Beta in the coming weeks. If you’d like to get on the list, simply click on the sign up for beta button at the top of this page or visit the home page at www.zangzing.com.
